How to Grow Carrots

Sow April, May, June
Harvest June, July, August, September, October, November

April to June, thinly 1/2in (1cm) deep in shallow pre-watered drills, in soil that hasn’t been manured in the past 12 months. Keep soil moist at all times.

2-3in (5-8cm) apart. Avoid crushing the leaves as the scent attracts carrot root fly.

Lovely sweet flavour. Carrots do best on light, stone free, fertile soils. Roots store well if cleaned and packed in boxes of dry sand or compost.
